About Saint Brandon – Mauritius
A unique saltwater fishing adventure in a tropical paradise
The Saint Brandon atoll, also known as the Cargados Carajos Shoals, is an Indian Ocean archipelago located about 430 kilometres (268 nautical miles) northeast of Mauritius. It consists of more than 50 islands, coral ridges, and vast sand flats cut by three major passes, extending 50 km from north to south. These flats and reefs are considered some of the finest Bonefish grounds on the planet.
This remote atoll remains one of the few pristine places on Earth, thanks to strict limitations on tourist licenses issued each year. Guests fishing with us in Saint Brandon join an exclusive group of only around 200 tourists annually who are permitted to enter the atoll.
The atoll is home to thousands of birds, while giant sea turtles nest on its deserted beaches. The outer reef teems with life — crayfish, crabs, and octopus thrive in abundance, and visitors are even allowed to collect crayfish for daily meals while on location.
For many years, foreigners were restricted from visiting Saint Brandon’s shores. Today, the red tape has been cleared, allowing us to offer this rare and extraordinary journey aboard our luxurious catamarans — an adventure now accessible to both Mauritians and international guests.
